My children enjoy this series of books. We have all of them.

I have really enjoyed this book, which I bought for myself because I had forgotten most of what I learned in middle and high school. I found myself unable to recall why some wars were fought, what the Industrial Revolution was about, etc. I went online to see if I could find a book to help me refresh my memory and came across this one. It has been everything I wanted and more. I love the way it is presented- almost like real school notes - and how the author doesn’t overload us with too many details. The pages are colorful and fun. I love this book and have enjoyed refreshing my memory. I also plan to buy the Science version of this book. This is a definite winner and I highly recommend it for students or for adults like me who have forgotten some of what they learned 30+ years ago.

502 pages of history fun! This little book is so informative, it's advertised for middle school kids as a study guide. It's like getting a notebook from the smartest kid in class. Layed out just like a notebook with different color highlighters for different points (See photo). I actually bought this for myself saw it in a store and flipped through it, ordered from Amazon the next day. If you've got a middle schooler this book will really help them understand history. Love this book. I hope they come out with a high school level notebook too. You're never too old to brush up on history!

I am a NYS Social Studies teacher who left public school teaching to homeschool my own sons. I was very impressed with this US History book - all of the important concepts are covered, and we supplement with research if they want to dive deeper into a specific subject for a project. I bought a set of all of the "Everything You Need To Ace..." books to use with homeschooling my two middle-school-age sons. They are concise, include nice graphics and checking for understanding questions at the end of each section. It is reassuring to know that once my sons have mastered these books, they will have a good base going into high school.

I'm using this to assist me in homeschooling my son. It is so well-organized and written, and the questions at the end of each chapter are very useful in checking a student's understanding of what he or she has just read. I strongly recommend this book for anyone who is homeschooling.

I homeschool and history is probably our favorite subject. I bought this as a supplement to the curriculum that I write for our lessons and it has been wonderful. I love the way it's laid out, how certain things are highlighted and displayed. I like the writing because it's user friendly but not watered down. We don't use text books for our lessons, but my daughter (9) enjoys reading through this book on her own.

This is an excellent reference and study book for middle school. We homeschool, and I bought it for my seventh grader for her American History course, not really knowing what to expect. It really does cover everything in a concise, well organized, easy to understand format. We are using it as a kind of outline for our American History course, reading through each chapter, discussing the review questions, then using other sources (web, books, documentaries) to learn more/dig deeper into the people and events covered in the book. I have found it to be a very helpful planning/organizational tool and guide to American History, and I will definitely be purchasing Everything....World History when we study it.

I love this book! It’s been 50 years since I took an American History class, so I really needed a refresher. And there are facts in here that were never covered in my big, fat textbook back then. The book lays it all out concisely - no extra fluff - and in an almost conversational manner, which I like. I have ADD so less is more for me. I keep the book in the bathroom - TMI, I know - but a great place to read a few pages at a time. I also purchased the World History version and can’t wait to be schooled on all I’ve forgotten about the whole world over the years. What a great idea!

Great book. Attractive enough to make you want to pick it up and read it. The graphics are colorful, the font is clear, and the highlights and titles are in bold print. Chapters are color coded. Check Your Knowledge questions and answer page included. Contents list all the units and it's coverage. What makes this book stand out from all the others is that it includes all the important information broken down in easy to understand text and simple to read maps. It's all you need to know and that's it. There are a total of 5 subjects in this series: they include Math, Science, English Language Arts, World History, American History in the series and we have all of them. This is definitely worth the investment. Parents will find this book and series simple to explain to your child and/or read with them. Nothing complicated. Buy this book and the others in the series. I highly recommend it.
